Puerto Vallarta is a fantastic tourist destination, located on the west coast
of Mexico in the Bay of Banderas
which is one of
the largest bays in the world.
It is nature's perfect combination of healthy green mountains
which are stucked in the pacific.
Unlike
the east
coast, which has only the turquoise colored Caribbean Sea, and dead drunk
Yanks and Europeans,
the town surrounding is a total Amazonian
jungle with many tropical
animals.
The 20% of the
population are Canadians or levy on the Americans, mainly because you will
recognize Canadians wearing T-shirts with the flag and there are fanatics that
are tattooed a red leaf, generally they do not like to compare themselves with
their neighbors, the Americans and Gringos.
The city is made up of
the Old and New Vallarta and small villages that are wide at the Bay of
Banderas and everything is connected by the sea.
I take a hotel in
the old town, friendly staff, as always, I think that Mexico is No. 1 in the
world as for the hospitality.
Some people associate
Mexico with drug cartels, murders and horror scenes. That is totally wrong
picture, cause it is far from tourist destinations and their mutual war
Drug lords do not
interfere with tourism. They even invest money because they know the industry
brings bread ordinary people.
Old Vallarta is a
mixture of locals and tourists that
gives it a charm unlike New where you feel you're in California. At every
corner sits a grandmother who says "Hello" everyone and sells
coconut.
If you love serious fishing, you're in the right
place at the Banderas Bay are hanging large predators such as Blue Marlyn,
Magenta Fin Tuna, Rooster Fish and good old whale comes to the surface to greet
Vallarta, which is also the mascot of the Bay.
But if you talk
about the tasties fish. That is a gold colored fish with a funny head called
Dorado or mahi-mahi, which can take off immediately when you cut off the hook and
eat.
Beach and
swimming in Vallarta are as in any tourist place for a stroll, but you can find
a real beach in the area, such as Quimixto and Playa Mismaloya.
Quite by accident
I fell swoop into the German position at the entrance of Casa Alemania shows
that German owner is hunky dory all of my tickets to the Mexican waiter with
German discipline. Owner classics blonde German guy who just came yesterday
from Berlin, and in fact he lives for 30 years. After the wheat beer and apple
strudel Krieger spoke to me about Mexico from Germany pumpkin which is very
interesting combination.
He showed me a
couple of kilometers long desert beaches which you should really make an effort
to see .....
